Family Based Green Card Petition

For U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders sponsoring a relative for permanent residency

Required Documents

For the Petitioner (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder):

  • Proof of Status
    (U.S. passport, naturalization certificate, or Green Card copy)

​

  • Proof of Relationship
    (Marriage certificate, birth certificate, adoption records, etc.)

​

  • Marriage Evidence (if spousal petition)
    (Photos, joint accounts, lease, tax returns, etc.)

​

  • Divorce or death certificates (if previously married)

For the Beneficiary (Relative Seeking Green Card):

  • Birth Certificate

  • Passport-style photos (2 recent photos)

  • Copy of passport biographic page and visa stamp (if in U.S.)

  • Proof of lawful entry (Form I-94) (if applicable)

  • Affidavit of Support documents (for Adjustment of Status phase)

Additional USCIS fees apply later during Adjustment of Status (Form I-485) or consular processing.
