RENUNCIATION OF INDIAN CITIZENSHIP:

 

Once you acquire foreign citizenship, it is mandatory to renounce your Indian passport and citizenship within 3 years of Naturalization.

​

India do not allow dual nationality like US and Canada.

​

Renunciation Certificate is a mandatory document for acquiring an OCI Card or a long-term Indian

VISA.

Document Checklist for Renunciation: Copies

 

  • Foreign Passport (Bio Page)

  • Naturalization Certificate (Also known as Citizenship Certificate)

  • Indian Passport (first 2 and last 2 pages or first 4 pages in case of very old handwritten passports)

        Note: You will need to send the original Indian Passport later for cancellation if you have the

  • original in possession.

  • Driver License or Utility Bill

  • Spouse Passport (If married)

  • 2 Passport Size photo (will be required along with signed physical forms after the online processing is completed)

$235 (If naturalized after June 2010)
